Harry & Tom’s Activities Face painting and sport. Face painting options: I Africa Traditional African stripes Sport: Soccer Bean bag relays (signifies water carrying)
Victoria & Charlotte Charlotte On African Day I was in charge of the cooking and helped with the video Sausage sizzle (including African sausages) Making and selling biscuits Food and stall + Videoing Victoria On African Day I was in charge of video recording and I was also the stall manager. Made muffins and sale items Managed the stall + Videoing
Emma & Clinton • We did African Art. • Tracing • Colouring (for the younger children) • Copying from templates • Drawing
Tim • I did South African language with my mum, Mrs Sarah Bayley • We taught students how to say basic things such as hello, goodbye and my name is. • We did a short presentation with photos from our trip last year to the school we are supporting. • We taught and videoed the whole school sending a message in Zulu to the students in South Africa.
Luci I did chants and games. Chant - Walking Through Africa Games - Fish in the net - Leo the lion (African version of Marco Polo) Acting - African animals
Conclusion • Everyone enjoyed a yummy lunch and homemade cakes and biscuits. • The children bought some beautiful artefacts and jewellery to remember the day. • The Year 6 Leaders have left the school with a culture of awareness and support for those less fortunate. • WE MADE OVER $500 FOR OUR SISTER SCHOOL IN AFRICA!!!!!!!!!!
