Monday 21st September 2009
Including, supporting & challenging all young people through PE and school sport
3. Key Outcomes of a School Sports Partnership High Quality PE for all students.
Opportunities for all young people to :-
participate in a range of high quality activities on a school site.
access a range of activities in a community environment
all young people to develop their potential
young people to undertake high quality Leadership and Volunteering roles.
4. The Canterbury Partnership Government aim for 2008 – 2011
‘In addition to at least 2 hours per week of high
quality PE and Sport in school for all 5 – 16 year
olds, all children and young people aged 5 – 19 will
be offered opportunities to participate in a further 3
hours per week of sporting activities provided
through schools, FE Colleges, clubs and
community providers.
This will create a sustainable legacy both in terms of
future elite success and grassroots sport.

14. How did we do? The average number of sports provided by schools nationally during 08/09 was 23 compared to 17.5 in 07/08 and 14.5 2003/04. Only 10% of which have School/Club links.
15. Target Area 1- School Club Links Much stricter guidelines for what is a School Club Link
More work needed by schools and clubs to improve existing links and to establish new links if we are going to work toward the 3rd,4th….5th hour offered to all YP.

17. Canterbury CPD opportunities Courses available to all members of staff not just PLT’s but class teachers, TA’s, AOTT etc.
The Canterbury Partnership are running an array of training courses this year.
To include: Gym, Dance, Multi Skills, Sport Stacks, Rugby, Athletics, Cricket & PLT modules.
3 x Partnership training days - Training for new programmes & initiatives, networking, planning with SSCo’s.
ASK also run training courses - Swimming modules, ‘help I’m not a specialist!’ PLT conference.
A full day’s supply cover is Ł143
Please sign and send in invoices ASAP after a course OR DAY OF COURSE.
Each primary partner is eligible for 9 days supply cover a year. To include 3 x Partnership Training Days, 3 training Courses, 3 Flexi Days.

21. Photographic Policy Red wristbands should be worn by all young people who should not have their photograph taken at any competition/festival.
Many SSP will be doing the same. Particularly important for cross partnership events: Kent School Games.
Newspapers and official photographers will be aware of policy.

A programme for students with Physical Disabilities
Deliver training for identified staff to develop skills in identifying and supporting ability in young disabled people.
Staff Identify particular students to send to the East Kent Talent I.D Day, for those young disabled people who are demonstrating higher abilities in PE and Sport.
Students demonstrating high abilities will be invited to the Kent P2P Day and registered through Para Sport
Identified students will be invited to attend county training camps in particular sports.
