Dealing with Your Intuition or GutInstinct When in doubt, trust your guts. This is the most popular advice being given by well-being professionals to people who seek these specialists after repeated failures to get ahead in their jobs or undertakings. Such people felt there was something wrong in their judgment, in the life choices they made. Although they invested a lot of thought on their decisions, basing them on what they believed to be a rich storehouse of knowledge and experience, they somehow ended up in a rut. We live in a rapidly changing world and life’s decisions just couldn’t hinge any longer on wisdom and knowledge as we know these things. In fast- changing environments, intuition plays a role more important than what we know and swear by. Intuition is a form of knowledge that appears in consciousness without obvious deliberation. It is far from magical but rather a faculty which generates hunches from the unconscious mind rapidly sifting through past experience and cumulative knowledge. Do you wonder how you correctly second-guess a person you’re dealing react to something you said? This is your intuition or gut instinct at work. Intuition arises holistically and quickly, without awareness of the underlying mental processing of information. Scientists have repeatedly demonstrated how information can register on the brain without conscious awareness and positively influence decision-making and other behavior.
Psychologists believe that intuition relies on powers of pattern-matching, as the mind combs experience stored in long-term memory for similar situations and presents in-the-moment judgments based on them. The automatic information processing that underlies intuition can be seen in the everyday phenomenon known as “highwayhypnosis,” which occurs when a driver travels for miles without a conscious thought about the activity of driving the car. Our gut feelings are often correct, so it is safe to attach a certainty to them. These gut feeling are often more accurate in some domains of experience than others, such as in the formation of first impressions. Dear Friend: Hi!
