Heavenly Hummus. Ingredients: 425g can chick peas, 1 clove garlic, 4 x 15ml spoons olive oil, juice of a lemon, 4 x 15ml spoons tahini, salt and paprika. 1. Drain the chick peas through a sieve over a mixing bowl. Save the liquid for later.

Ingredients: 425g can chick peas, 1 clove garlic, 4 x 15ml spoons olive oil, juice of a lemon, 4 x 15ml spoons tahini, salt and paprika.
1. Drain the chick peas through a sieve over a mixing bowl. Save the liquid for later.
2. Blend the chick peas in a processor or blender until smooth.
9. At this point, add some of the liquid from the canned chick peas and blend to give a light, soft consistency, but with some texture.
10. Spoon into a dish and serve chilled as a dip with pitta strips, bread sticks or tortilla chips, or use as a sandwich filling.
