The call of Matthew-Levi The calling of Matthew is most fully described in Matthew 9:9ff. Luke (5:27ff) and Mark (2:14ff) describe the same scene, only they give a different name (Levi) to the tax collector.

Joseph of Arimathea & Nicodemus (Duccio) Jn 19:38ff..Pilate gave him permission; so he came and removed his body.
