  2. Duties Assistant Designers basically prepare and complete the projects for the senior designer. They support the main designer. They sometimes have to research trend fashion and analyze the customer’s demands. They also help the production team to create the sample-clothing pieces.

  3. Education Sometimes Assistant Designers are required to have formal education in fashion design or related field. Some employers expect Assistant Designers to know the field and have some experience in the industry.

  4. Abilities No specific ability is needed. Most of Assistant Designers have qualifications in Foundation or BA Hons in Fashion, Costume Design, or Interpretation. Many of them progress through Costume Department and start their career as Costume Assistant or Trainees.

  5. Personal Qualities -Highly organized and efficient -Good memory and keen attention to detail -Being familiar with costume budged and able to estimate cost -Good descriptive abilities -Understand research process -Creative -Good communication skill

  6. Salary Avarage… $43,000 - $48,000 (at New York & Company)

  7. Location & Availability The job, Assistant Designer, is available at fashion brand office. Assistant Designers will work with the main designers.
