  4. Reflect on your reasons for participating and your interests • You will have the opportunity to choose a Thread path (topic) based on your interests and talents • These are:

  5. Threads • Global Business and Finance • Faith and Humanitarian Issues • Global Politics • Arts and Humanities • Language and Culture • Global Health and Environmental

  6. Global Business and Finance • Exploring the what’s, why’s and how’s of the American business world • Investigating how various economies work in the international arena • Learning about stocks, bonds, investments, the NYSE, etc. and how they all function

  7. Faith and Humanitarian Issues • Linking global solidarity and social justice • Looking at the human family issues through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching • Learning about and understanding the challenges to the global human family from a faith perspective in order to find solutions

  8. Global Politics • Exploring the interactions of governments and other actors in a globalizing world • Understanding destabilizing forces such as terrorism which threaten the international system and the way we live • Investigating the impact of communication technology on global interactions, i.e.- the impact of the internet • Learning about career opportunities in international law and diplomacy

  9. Arts and Humanities • Understanding how creativity is expressed through various forms across cultures and various media • Participating in a variety of theatrical events, performances, and other artistic experiences • Using attendance at music, theater, dance performances to enrich your appreciation of cultures

  10. Language and Culture • Exploring Intercultural connectivity • World language acquisition and usage for international communication • Diversity awareness

  11. Global Health and Environmental • Exploring the impact of environmental changes on quality of life • How global poverty impacts health issues • Current efforts to eradicate disease
