How It Is Used Today… • Yes abacus still in used today, specially for visual impaired students. They use it to work in Braille schools for math.
How and When It Was Introduced… • The history of the abacus starts in600 BC. In the Han Dynasty . The abacus was appeared in the book of Supplementary Notes. • It was very popular and usually used in the period of Northern Song Dynasty . • In the Ming Dynasty, it was introduced in Japan. Later people started to create their one inventions for calculating.
How It’s made… • It is made out of a wires in a wooden frame with vertical rows of beads strung on wires. • The beads are moved up and down when people are doing the calculation. • The Abacus, is still being used by merchants, traders and clerks in some parts of China.
