Hyperbole Example: I will love you forever and always Hyperbole: is where you exaggerate at or show a very strong felling or effect
Example: Tommy was a tom boy who was raised by toads. Tommy always climbed trees and then tumbled on the way home. Alliteration Alliteration: the same constant sound as the words it comes before or after
Metaphor Example: His heart is Antarctica. Metaphor: comparing 2 unlike things without using like or as
Example: The lake was tired and wrinkly this morning. Personification Personification: letting something non-human have human traits
Onomatopoeia Example: The lighting flashed after the thunder went BOOM!! Onomatopoeia: sound words that go with words that describe that.
Idiom Example: You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink it. Idiom: expressions or sayings that don’t have the exact meaning
