Overview of development of the EVDCWM and its structure for strategic impact • Provides a strategic overview on volunteering in the region by audit/research/network • Liaises with regional organisations to secure volunteering in their strategic/business plans • Contributes to monitoring the impact of volunteer activities • Member organisations meet with local partners, for example local authority to reinforce volunteering as an important mechanism to build communities • Raises the profile of volunteering through partnership activities • Advocates for the training of volunteers and volunteer managers • Provides peer support for its members • Seeks to capture a range of volunteering taking place across the region

  3. Strategic Priorities for next 18 months • Impact of recession on volunteering • Monitor progress against recommendations of Regional Infrastructure Commission on NI 6 • Promote volunteering

Our achievements • Influential and stable membership • Regional voice of volunteering • Action Plan 2008/09 • Regional conference Nov 2008 on ‘The Impact of Volunteering in the West Midlands on you, your business and the economy’ • Regional Infrastructure project on NI 6 – Participation in regular volunteering ie once a month, March 2009 • Framework of evidence to assess progress against NI 6 targets of local authorities and third sector partners, June 2009
