The library staff did a great job (as always)…” Goals: To have 1st year medical students become familiar with library layout, resources and services, to feel comfortable with the library public service staff, and to have fun! Entrance Open Reserve Sample Questions: Ask the librarian at the Reference Desk his/her name. Write the title of a book in the Open Reserve collection. List the hours the Learning Center is open and pick-up your gift at the Help Desk. Give the title of one of today’s new journals. Ask the person behind the Circulation Desk how long a book may be checked out of the library.The Annals of Internal Medicine is published bimonthly. Write the date of one of the February 2003 issues. Student Objectives:1. To find as many answers to the 15 questions as possible in 20 minutes. 2. To work together as a team. 3. To locate the Reference Desk, Current Journals, Learning Center, Circulation Desk, and other important areas of the library. CirculationDesk CurrentJournals Kick-off:Students arrive in groups of 20, and are each given a RULES OF THE GAME sheet in a different color. Teams of 5 are formed based on the colors. Each team has one minute to come up with a name: i.e., Pink Ladies, Blue Heron, Yellow Fever, Gangrene, Bee Sharp. History of Medicine
