Vincent Callebaut It was the year 2000 when 23 year old Vincent Callebaut graduated with the Great Architecture Prize Rene Surrure, Callebaut then decided to live in Paris in order to extend his critical thinking. A year later, he competed in box and won the Grand Architecture Prize Napolé on Godecharle of the Académie Royale des Beaux, also known as the Arts of Brussels awarding the best hope of the Belgian architecture with its ecological project, which was called Elasticity, an aquatic city of 50,000 inhabitants entirely independent. This was of course, a terrific start for the young architect, and he was awarded numerous awards and recognitions over the years. Vincent Callebaut has been known for many years by his amazing use of eco vision. The way he combines nature, raw concrete and steel is none other than spectacular. Callebaut is currently 34 years old.
5 Words • Aquatic- many of his creations are submergible (partly submerged). • Original- many architectures of his are new ideas and literally out of this world. • Sleek- many monuments/buildings he has designed are very smooth and elegant. • Organic- Many of his creations have organic lines and shapes and almost always have something to do with nature. • FUTURISTIC!- many designs of his appear, and sometimes are, things that would be better or being built with futuristic technology and resources.
