THERE WERE MANY PROTESTS, RIOTS, AND STRIKES TO END DESEGREGATION.
WHO WAS INVOLVED? Philip Randolph Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Whitney Young Roy Wilkins John Lewis President Kennedy President Truman
BROWN VS BOARD OF EDUCATION The Brown vs. Board of Education case desegregated public schools. White parents were not happy about it. President Eisenhower had to send troops to Little Rock Arkansas high school to protect the first entering black students.
Desegregation of sports Jackie Robinson helped desegregate sports starting with baseball. He was the first African American to be on a national team.
MILITARY DESEGREGATION The Executive Order 9981 issued by President Truman officially desegregated the military.
