SENIOR SCHOOLSUBJECT SELECTION PROCESS STEP 1 : Parent Information Evenings (Yr 9, 10, 11) STEP 2 : Subject Selection Form. STEP 3 : Appointments made by parents. STEP 4 : 20 minute interview with Head of Senior School or Careers Coordinator STEP 5 : Regular review of Academic Performance
Year 10 – Semester 1 • Religious Education 5 periods per week • English 5 periods per week • Mathematics 5 periods per week • Science 5 periods per week • Society & Environment 5 periods per week • Health and PE 3 periods per week • Careers 1 period per week • Students have a choice of ONE other subject (5 periods per week)
Year 10 – Semester 2 • Religious Education 5 periods per week • English 5 periods per week • Mathematics 5 periods per week • Health and PE 3 periods per week • Careers 1 period per week • Students choose THREE other subjects • NOTE: Science and Society & Environment are NOT compulsory in Semester Two
Year 11 and 12 - Pathways • University Pathway • Stage 2 in Year 11 • Stage 3 in Year 12 (only exception 2C/2D Maths) • Religion & Life Stage 2 in Year 11, Stage 3 in Year 12 OR • Religion & Life Stage 1 in Year 11 and 12. • TAFE/Workforce Pathway • VET Certificates and • 1A/B in Year 11 and 1C/D in Year 12 • Workplace Learning ** • Religion & Life Stage 1 in Year 11 and 12 • All courses are year long courses
Year 11 Each student must study: • Religion & Life 1A & 1B OR 2A & 2B • English • Four Subjects of Choice (can include VET qualifications (eg Certificate II in Information Technology). Mathematics is strongly recommended. • Specialist Mathematics – off line (7.40am each day in Years 11 & 12).
Year 11 – Other features • ACC Sport / recreation every Tuesday afternoon – Periods 5, 6 and 7. • One seminar period each week for study, tutorials or guest speakers. • Year 11 Christian Leadership Week at the end of Term 2
YEAR 12 • Religion & Life 1C/1D or 3A/3B • English • Four Subjects of Choice (Certificate II in Information Technology). Mathematics – highly recommended. • Specialist Mathematics – off line (before school).
Year 12, 2011 65 - Four or more Stage 2/Stage 3 31 - Workplace Learning 38 - VET Certificate (Certificate II in Business) (Certificate II Information Technology)
Year 12 – Other features • ACC Sport / recreation – Tuesday Periods 5, 6 and 7 • Seminar period for study, tutorials or guest speakers • Year 12 Retreat • College Ball – end of Term 1 (during the April School Holidays) • Leavers Jumper – last week of school • Final Week – Leaders Dinner, Farewell Assembly, Graduation Breakfast, Graduation Mass, Graduation Ceremony No “muck up” day.

Workplace Learning and School Based Traineeships • Workplace Learning and a school based Traineeship/ Apprenticeship concurrently. • One-day per week Workplace Learning. • Units of competency / completed Certificate in their chosen industry area.
Industry Partnerships • Established specific industry partnerships in Hospitality, Plumbing, Community, Services and Business. • 16 students involved in either School Based Traineeships or Apprenticeships. (1 day per week)
