  3. Accessories • SMS (Short Message Service) is used for text messaging • Email • Packet Switching is used for access to the internet • Camera and Video Recorder • MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) for sending and receiving pictures

  4. Inside the Cell Phones • The circuit board • The microprocessor • An antenna • A liquid crystal display (LCD) • A keyboard • A microphone • A speaker • A battery

  6. Disadvantages • Non-repairable internal corrosion of parts results if you get the phone wet or use wet hands to push the buttons. • Extreme heat in a car can damage the battery or the cell-phone electronics. • Extreme cold may cause a momentary loss of the screen display.

  10. How Far We’ve Come Cell phone technology has come a long a way and is still growing. Compared to the first cell phone, modern cell phones are smaller, more advanced and more reliable. Cell phones used to be the size of a normal house telephone but now they can fit in the palm of our hands. The only people that had cell phones when they first came out were business men but now almost every person in the United States h-as one.
