What is CTS? • A container tracking system, specifically created for the needs of the dry ice industry. • An easy to understand graphical user interface via handheld/barcode scanner. • A management focused program that gathers information for inventory tracking, recovery, and replacement.
What can CTS do for us? • Calculates totals of all containers by manufacturer, size, and current location. • Shows how many containers are at a specific location. • Tells how long a container has been inactive at any location. • Gives management the knowledge of what facilities have too many containers and which have too little. • Holds employees accountable by listing date, time, location, and employee ID at each transaction. • The ability to view an individual containers life history. • Allows customers to digitally sign via handheld before the containers can be released holding them accountable. • Variety of detailed reports that articulate information that has been collected into viewable and printable screens.
How does CTS work? • All data is input via Palm based handheld/barcode scanner. • Symbol Model 1550. • Handheld device is AAA battery powered, light and easy to use. • It is actually a fully stocked Palm pilot with the capabilities of storing driving directions, phone #, customer contacts, a calculator and other useful functions.
How does CTS work? cont’ • Each container is bound with a 25 alpha numeric Identification code that defines its serial number, manufacturer, size, material, options, ship date, manufacturing location, and owner into one simple barcode format. How does CTS work? cont’ • In addition to the Bar Code found on the Container, all other necessary input information is found in a bar code format, to include: • Employee ID • Plant or Branch Location • Damaged Holding Locations / Repair Facility Locations • Truck ID (based on trailer or cab vin #) • Customer Account # • Delivery / Order #
