Alert Interface Group (AIG)

This report provides an update on the current status of the Alert Interface Group (AIG) and its decision to define requirements of the alerting format and protocols. It also discusses the collaboration with other working groups and the recommendation of using the OASIS CAP message standard for submitting warnings to the CMAS.

Status • Current Status • Decision to define requirements of the alerting format and protocols A’ on reference model • Collaborated with UNG to derive opt-out criteria using urgency, severity and certainty • Next Steps • Consider Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) fields that will interface with the Alert Gateway most efficiently • Methods and requirements to prioritize message type by urgency, severity and certainty if needed • Recommend Alert Interface Trust Model
