  6. AIG Bailout • 85 billion dollar bailout in 2008 • Concerned about collapse of the economy • Now up to 180 billion dollars • Tax payers money • Money amount continues to increase • 1.6 trillion dollar worth of lethal credit default swaps

  7. Could Have Been Avoided • Declare Bankruptcy • Chapter 11 • Not nearly as bad as it is now • Fear of collapse • The bailout is said to be failing • Spending Money the Government and tax payers do not have
