  6. Students with a Connectedness Problem: • Spend quite a bit of time by themselves. • Don’t volunteer to help you. • Have few or no friends. • Uncomfortable about touching or being touched.

  7. Uniqueness One must acknowledge and respect his/her special qualities and must receive affirmation that such qualities are valued by others.

  8. Students with a Uniqueness Problem: • Don’t show much imagination. • Rarely contribute original ideas. • Embarrassed by praise. • Convinced they are not very special. • Usually conforms to other’s wishes. • Get uncomfortable when called on or singled out.

  9. Power Having the resources, the opportunity and the capability to influence the circumstances of one’s own life.

  10. Behaviors that indicate a Power Problem: • Often stubborn and bossy. • Frequently act helpless. • React poorly to frustration. • Take credit for the accomplishments of others. • Use “give-up” excuses. • Lack emotional self-control. • Withhold resources which others need. • Avoid making “I” statements. • Create distractions.

  12. Behaviors that indicate a Models Problem: • Don’t respond well to instruction. • Get confused easily. • Waste time. Can’t stay focused. • Sloppy,messy, and disorganized with self and materials. • Have a difficult time deciding what to do. • Don’t seem to be headed in any direction.
