Speed A measure of how fast something moves or the distance it moves in a given amount of time Speed = distance / time Examples of units: meters/second, miles/hour
Velocity Speed in a given direction Speed = distance / time + direction Examples: meters/second north, miles/hour south
Vector A quantity that has both size and direction Example: velocity (speed and direction) Not a vector: speed (only has a size, no direction)
