  2. What is a WSP • Plan put together by company and employees for training and skills development of employees • Based on analysis of business requirements and skills needs of current staff • Also based on training programmes required and beneficiaries

  3. Benefits • Research tool • Most updated information about the sector since info is from in-house • Provides trends and dynamics (technology growth and decreases) • Provides aggregates about skills gaps and shortages • Skills progammes and learnerships largely based on WSP trends

  4. ISETT SETA SYSTEM • WEB-BASED (no datacapturing) • ONLINE • REALTIME • INTEGRATED • CUSTOMISABLE • ANALYSIS ALL THE TIME AND REPORTS AUTOMATIC

  5. Disadvantages • Not inclusive (info about SMME’s not included) • Margin of error based on companies attitudes • Not reporting the truth (Fear of action by the SETA)

  6. ISETT SETA WSP • WWW.isett.org.za or 196.4.89.14/cdas/isett.asp • Register first as SDF and link to companies before approval • After approval gather data and load data into system • Once WSP approved , SETA pays to company

  7. GRANT DEADLINES • Grant A - 30 November 2001 • Involves the registration of the SDF and the submission of Workplace Skills Plan • Grant B – 30 April 2002 • Involves the submission of the Implementation report/ Training report • Grant C (discretionary grant) – 30 April 2001

  8. Criteria for approval • Within deadline • Information must be coherent • Companies with more than 50 companies – training committee • Employment profile • Strategic business priorities • etc
