Bavaria was part of the Roman Empire and marked the border to the north.
Francia House of Wittelsbach From 1180 until 1918 Bavaria was reinged by the Wittlesbachers. • Later it became part of Francia.
Bavariais in the south east of Germany The state capital is Munich
Danube Europe`s second longest river, the Danube flows through Bavaria.
The Alps There are parts of the Alps, which are Bavarian.
Zugspitze The biggest mountain in Germany , the Zugspitze, with a hight of 2962 meters.
Lake Constance The Lake Constance is on the border of three countries (Germany , Austria and Switzerland). It`s also the biggest lake in Germany.

Oktoberfest • The Oktoberfest is the world's largest folk festival, running in Munichfrom late September to the first weekend in October • The Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture
Food and drink • Bavarians tend to place a great value on food and drink • Specialties are for example Weißwurst("whitesausage") andBrezn (Pretzel) • At folk festivals, beer is traditionally served by the litre (the so-called Maß)

Battle of Lechfeld • In 955 the Battle of Lechfeld took place near our school. Otto I the Great defeated the Hungarians. • Some people say it was the foundation of Germany.
Via Claudia Augusta • The Via Claudia Augusta is an ancient and very important Roman road. • It runs only 3 km away from our school.
