Purpose of Group • To share knowledge of and improve the use of Captivate for web-based instruction in both the clinical and hospital learning environments • Develop standards of instructional design for web based instruction
Evidence-Based Need • Survey responses from to Captivate users (survey results dated 05/09) • Service desk tickets-remain unanswered due to lack of knowledge-based • Increased number of Captivate license purchases-increase by 50% in past year • Demand for additional web-based instruction-approximately 40 modules/ month, increase of 90% compared to last year
Project Type • Captivate and Instructional Design users group. • The user group will have a dedicated web site that will contain: • A minimum of 2 blogs (technical and general discussion) • Monthly web-based training • Tip and tricks • Archival information sorted by Captivate version • The group will meet once a month with web-conferencing offered to discuss upcoming projects and needs
Intended Audience • All Aurora Health Care Captivate users. These include but are not limited to: • Hospital Site Coordinators (5) • Clinic Applications Analysts (3) • AMG-IS Analysts (3) • AAH- Training Analysts (4) • Employee & Organization Development staff (2) • Knowledge Based Nursing Informatics (9) • Residence Training Staff (2) • Training & Communications Staff (11) • Other ancillary Captivate users
Learning Outcome • The members of the Captivate Users Group will gain knowledge on the proper use of Captivate. Collectively the group will determine the best practices for developing Captivate WBI in a health care environment. Members will better understand graphic design principals and be able to apply them to WBI. Members will also be able to support their fellow Captivate users when needed.
Promote Higher-Order Thinking Skills • Members will be able to synthesize the information learned from the user group and create higher quality WBI for their clinics and/or hospital learners. • Members will also be able to apply knowledge gained about instructional design practices to their WBI.
Deliverables • Intranet website • WBI standards template that is “Aurora-tized” using acceptable colors, fonts and images • A meeting schedule for monthly meetings(partially in-person/virtual)
