Power Artifact As for my power artefacts I have a number of ideas but am struggling putting them together to form a short film with an obvious message of power. For this artefact I want to use a different method instead of actually going out a with a digital video camera and filming. So I thought of different skills and methods I could use and decided I would use stills as I have not done so before. Before I decide what path and style I want to work on for my power artefact I should have a look at existing films that I believe contain clips of Power in several different ways. I have alreadylooked at several stop motion videos on you tube and found many of them intriguing as well as interesting, and this is whyI think it isa good idea to produce a film using stills and that was what I was going to do. Power artifact I have chosen to do may power artefact on ‘The power of Technology’ as I think it might be simple and effective to the viewers, as well as being able to get the message of power across. I have also decided to use stills instead of video footage. I believe this would be very experimental and hard work for myself as I have never made a move out of stills before. I am hoping this works. The title for my artefact will be ‘The Power of Technology’ as it is self explanatory. I believe technology is controlling and controlling is power therefore power is technology. I have also decided to go for the effect ‘The perfect Human’ uses which is the repetitive shot form as I feel it is powerful. Jagdeesh Rhall (2242019)
Reflection After having finished my power artefact I am very disappointed in myself as I believe I could have done so much better. I tried to make a movie out of stills but it did not happen the way I had expected it to. This was the first time I had used just stills to make a movie, I admit this project was a challenge to myself and tried as much as I could to get it right. It was my first experimental project. The feedback that I got from my tutor was understandable he said “he did not understand what message I was trying to get”. I can relate to this comment as I believe it was rather difficult for people to understand the message I was trying to get across because the product was not to standards. It was like I had managed to take photos of household items and put them together with some music and text. Jagdeesh Rhall (2242019)
Conclusion • If I had the chance to do this project again I would put 100% more effort and time into it. • I would start by planning and making sure I know what message I would like to get across to the audience and plan on how I can achieve this clearly and obviously as possible. • I think I needed more time for this project so I could experiment a little with making still images into a movie. • Next I will be more: • Organised • Plan ahead • Research in depth • Know exactly what message I am trying to portray • Work on the technical side • Put more effort into it Jagdeesh Rhall (2242019)
