Update on Current Capital Projects • Window project at Howitt Middle School, Albany Avenue and Saltzman East Memorial Elementary Schools - Award of bid is being recommended for Board of Education action tonight • Girls and boys bathroom renovation project at Farmingdale High School - Award of bid is being recommended for Board of Education action tonight • On May 21, 2013 the community approved Proposition #2, to utilize the capital reserve in order to complete the window projects at Northside and Woodward Parkway Schools - No additional cost to the taxpayer • Work is scheduled in accordance with the long term energy plan
Overview of:Energy Performance Contract • Culmination of more than a year of work with the district’s Facilities Advisory Committee and Board of Education • Construction costs are fully paid from the energy savings that are realized as a result of energy conservation measures • ESCO guarantees the savings or will pay the difference in any year where the savings are not realized • Significantly reduces the district’s carbon footprint while improving the academic environment
