  12. Affect on his life: • Eats everything on he’s plate • Belongs to: Edmond exchange club • Gives to many charities • Millionaires club. • $1 for the beggars on the corners.

  13. To save Money • They made there own fun. • Cardboard soles. • Ate lots of cabbage and cube steaks.

  15. Government involvement • New Deal: • CCC: gave jobs to youth • WPA: Build bridges and parks • Federal Theater project: made the arts national, and more a part of people’s lives.

  18. Problems • Difficult Hearing • Book had little to no info about regular families and kids

  19. What I learned that was surprising • Car with a lifetime battery. • A bike for $5 • Good memory
