  1. EPMS CHOIRS 6th Grade Treble (4 days) Bel Canto (4 days) Dolce Bellas (4 days) Men’s Choir (3 days) Honor Choir

Procedures/ Expectations • Enter the room QUIETLY and check the board as you get your choir folder/ mark your attendance. • Be seated in your assigned seat and begin bell work (Listening Journal) . • Participate in each activity fully and without disrupting. • Raise pointer finger high for restroom or water. • Raiser two fingers for tissue, throw away, or hand sanitizer (inside the room) • Raise all 5 for other questions. • Do not blurt out in class. Do not talk to your neighbor during rehearsal. IT IS DISRUPTIVE and will earn you your very own conduct check. • Put your folder away neatly when dismissed and exit the room quietly. • Always check around your chair and clean up any mess before you leave. • Take ALL of your things with you. I have my own things. 

  4. EVERYBODY PERFORMS! Two required concerts: December 10th(tentative) and April 28th (tentative) Both concerts are at 6:30 p.m. at Bartlett United Methodist Church. Honor Choir will have extra performances

  5. CHOIR FEES 2019-2020 • $75 for all choir students in all grades due on or before October 4th. • The Fee covers: • Uniform or replacement parts. • Our choir music (which stays in class). • Our concert venue rental fees. • Awards. • Other classroom expenses.

  6. EPMS Honor Choir

  7. Auditions for Honor Choir are September 30th - October 4th . • There are no extra fees for Honor Choir. The only separate expense will be the Spring Trip which is approximately $450. • Honor choir will travel to a national competition in the Spring. • (optional for Honor Choir members)

  8. Honor choir meets for rehearsal before school two days a week at 7:40 a.m. (and occasionally extra rehearsals as needed). • Honor choir students must maintain acceptable grades/ conduct in all classes, AND attend all rehearsals to remain in Honor Choir.

  9. Concert Attire We will place a bulk order in the October for those who have paid in full.

  10. Ladies: With uniform you must wear your own solid black, closed toe, closed heel shoes. IF you wear a heel it must be low enough that you can stand comfortably. No sandals, open toe, or sling-back shoes. Earrings must be less than an inch in diameter, no necklaces, one bracelet or watch on one arm. Any hair accessories must be solid black with no “bling”.

  11. Gentlemen: The uniform includes a white dress shirt, black flat front dress pants, black bow tie. Your own undershirt must be white with nothing printed on it. You will wear your own black shoes, and long black socks. No jewelry.

  13. Choir Calendar 2019-2020 August 27- 6:30 pm CHOIR parent meeting EPMS Cafeteria. Open to all choir parents. Sept 30-Oct.4- EPMS Honor Choir Auditions October 24- Bartlett City Schools Jr. High Honor Choir October 26 - All Southwest TN Honor Choir Auditions- Colonial MS (Optional 7th & 8th grade) November 8 2:45 EPMS Gym - Veterans' Day program November 14-16- All Southwest TN Honor Choir clinics and Concert-Location TBA December 10? – EPMS Holiday Choir Concert (required)

  14. February 20 - Solo & Ensemble- University of Memphis School of Music (Optional all grades) February 21- Band and Choir sponsored Winterfest Dance (fundraiser for music dept.) February 21- Black History Month program- April 1-2- Jr. High Choral Festival (Advanced choirs will attend one day) April 28?- EPMS Spring Choir Concert (required) April 26-28 Music Department (Honor Choir & Concert Band) Trip - location to be determined May- Fine Arts Banquet (optional)

Parent/ Guardian Volunteers • We need parents/guardians to help with our events including: • Field trip chaperones • Helping supervise at the concerts where you see your student perform • Chaperoning the Winterfest Dance • Selling concessions at the Winterfest Dance • Out-of-town trip chaperones (Honor Choir) • Honor Choir Trip Committee
