About this project • In this Final Year Project, We aimed to use the latest programming develop technology and tools to design, implement an innovative project. We are going to build a NDS game which is a RPG game. • Abstractly, we think this is a big challenge for us to develop a game which can really run on NDS. A year passed by and we finally develop Magic Flower DS by ourselves. It was a great success for us..
About this game • Our game title is Magic Flower DS. This title is inherited by Magic Flower which is our other project used before. We believe that Magic Flower is a lucky name. And we would like to have a new revolution for Magic Flower. • So, we decide to title it Magic Flower DS. One of reason is we are develop this game on NDS platform. Also, we would like the game be better than before.
About the platform • Our game is developing on NDS platform. There are a few reasons why we choose this platform. • In business, NDS is one of the best selling gaming consoles in 2007, and over 2,000,000 game copies were sold in 3 years. Most of the customers between ages 12 – 35 usually have their own Nintendo DS / Nintendo DS Lite.
About the platform • Recently, Nintendo has just released the new model of Nintendo DS console in November. • Survey and Researches show that many people are interested in buying the new model of Nintendo DS. It means there will be a sharp increase in customers who will own a Nintendo DS. Clearly, it is a potential market.
About the target market • Magic Flower DS main targets market is 15 – 30 years old customers as this group of customer has the highest consumption level. They enjoy entertaining and spend time and money on recreation. • In our view, Magic Flower DS has an amazing & exciting adventure story and perfect gaming system. Therefore, we believe that a lot of customers will be attracted to purchase the game.
Story • The adventure story began on 18th century. It's mainly around a girl, our main character, named Saki.
Story • In the beginning of the story, she was living in a town named "Peace Village", which is a village same as its name, peace. In there, Saki had made a boyfriend, Peter. Peter was a soldier of the country. One day, that was a big war, Saki and Peter's country had got a big lost in the war. For the soldier of the country, Peter, joined the war.
Story • A month passed by, Saki received a letter from Peter. Peter asked Saki to pick a flower called "Magic Flower" and it was living in a strange place. The letter also mentioned that if Saki could get the flower, the flower could make the war win, so that they could marry, but Peter has also said that there were many monsters around the flower. • Saki determined to find the Magic Flower, and her adventure began..
Introduction • Magic Flower DS is an Originality RPG game. With only creative and exciting background story, it is always not good enough for a good RPG game. • The most important idea is that the game should equip with a perfect gaming system.
Introduction • In Magic Flower DS, Player will act as the story’s main character, Saki, to find out the Magic Flower in the journey. • On the way, there are monsters and enemies to interfere with Player. Player’s task is to beat them and sooner to finish the mission.
