  14. Wholesalers and Distributors • CoC is required if other companies further down the chain wish to use the ecolabel or wish to make a claim about their MSC-certified products • Part B, 17.1.1 Need for certification

  17. Key points - remember Three Crucial Questions • Each company that takes ownership is required to have certification – EVEN if they don’t take possession • In most cases, processors need CoC. In all cases, they need an onsite audit • Once product is packed into consumer ready, tamper proof packs, CoC is no longer required

  20. 1st link in the supply chain • If assessing the 1stlink, verify : • Is fish eligible to carry MSC ecolabel? • If so, • Does your client buy from vessels of the Unit of certification? • Was the fish landed in authorised points of landing? • Do your client’s suppliers require CoC certification? • Information is found in each fishery report
