  2. WebReport/400 Configuration Configuring TCP/IP for WebReport/400 includes the following elements: • TCP/IP Interfaces • TCP/IP Routes • Host Table Entries • TCP/IP Domain Information • SMTP Attributes

  3. WebReport/400 Configuration • Gateway Directory Entry • Distribution Attributes • System Directory Requirements

  4. WebReport/400 Configuration Before starting, here’s what you’ll need: • The IP address of your AS/400 • The IP address of your Internet Router • The DNS name registered for your AS/400 • The IP address of your mail router • The IP addesses of two or more DNS servers

  5. WebReport/400 Configuration • Configuration on your AS/400 starts with the Configure TCP/IP menu • Type: GO CFGTCP Note: The examples in this presentation are based on OS/400 V4R2. Your screens may have some differences but the essential information will still be the same.

  6. WebReport/400 Configuration Choose menu option #1 and the above screen will be displayed. View the next slide for rules for this screen.

WebReport/400 Configuration • The “LOOPBACK” entry is a standard entry and should always be present. • If you already have TCP/IP configured and working for other applications, the second entry is probably already displayed here and no further work is needed now. • If there is no additional entry on this screen, one must be added to identify your AS/400 and it’s IP address. • To add an entry, type a ‘1’ and press ENTER, the screen on the following slide will appear.

  8. WebReport/400 Configuration This screen shows the “Change” version, but the information for your installation is the same. Look at the next slide for detail information.

WebReport/400 Configuration • The Internet address should be the IP address for your AS/400 • The Line description is the name for your network card on your AS/400 • The Subnet mask is a default entry and the value shown on the previous slide is “normal” for most installations • The rest of these parameters can normally take the default values as shown

  10. WebReport/400 Configuration Next, choose menu option 10 to display this screen:

  11. WebReport/400 Configuration • One entry is needed for each local host that you will normally • be working with. We recommend the following as a minimum: • Your AS/400 • Your Internet router • Your mail server

  12. WebReport/400 Configuration Next, choose menu option #12 from the CFGTCP menu:

  13. WebReport/400 Configuration • Fill in the fields on this screen as follows: • Host name: This is the name assigned to your AS/400 as • registered with the DNS. (ie: in the example screen, the • AS/400 is registered as kisco.nysunburst.com, the first • part of the address is entered here) • Domain name: Enter your company’s domain name • Host name search priority: Use *REMOTE • Internet address: Enter at least two IP addresses for • your company’s DNS servers. If you don’t know what • these are, check with your ISP.

  14. WebReport/400 Configuration Next, choose menu option #20 to display the TCP/IP Application Configuration menu as follows:

  15. WebReport/400 Configuration To configure SMTP, choose menu option #12 followed by menu option #3 on the following menu to display this screen:

  16. WebReport/400 Configuration Check your system against the values shown here for the first panel displayed. Most installations will use these default values. Then use your roll-up function to display the second panel as shown here:

  17. WebReport/400 Configuration On this panel, enter the IP address of your mail router in the first parameter. Note: We recommend that you always use the numerical IP address for this parameter. The other values on this screen can normally use the displayed default values.

  18. WebReport/400 Configuration Next, you will need to check several items in your system directory. At the command line, enter the WRKDIRE command and press Enter.

WebReport/400 Configuration • From the system directory, check the following items: • Verify that the following system user profiles are enrolled in • your system: QUSER, QMSF, QSECOFR, QPGMR (and • QDIRSRV if you are running OS/400 V4R4 or higher). If • any of these are not in the directory, they must be added. • Check that all user profiles for users who will be sending • messages via WebReport/400 are also registered. • If you are on OS/400 V4R1 or higher, WebReport/400 lets • you send Email to direct Internet addressing. To do this, • the special GATEWAY user profile must be created. Once • this is set up, a special directory entry must be established.

  20. WebReport/400 Configuration Create the GATEWAY directory entry as follows:

  21. WebReport/400 Configuration Use the pattern shown on the slide for the first panel. Be sure to use the exact same settings. Where you see the word KISCO used, substitute the system name for your AS/400. Once the first panel is set, use the roll-up function four times until the “Mail service level” screen is displayed.

  23. WebReport/400 Configuration The last step is to type the command CHGDSTA and press F4

  24. WebReport/400 Configuration Change the “Route to SMTP gateway” parameter on this screen to match the sample shown here. The last parameter should match the second part of the directory entry name created for your GATEWAY user profile.

  25. WebReport/400 Configuration Congratulations! You are now finished with the necessary steps for TCP/IP configuration. We recommend that you end and restart your Mail Server Framework (ENDMSF/STRMSF) and your SMTP server (ENDTCPSVR *SMTP/STRTCPSVR *SMTP) before trying to use WebReport/400.
