  3. Classic 8 Conference • Classic 8 Conference governs Lacrosse for HS boys and girls. • Lacrosse is still a “Club Sport” but will align with all WIAA rules and by-laws. • C8 conference is managed by a board of 5 Athletic Directors. • The BOD will communicate with ALL high school AD’s to help gain that school’s support of Lacrosse. • There is a league commissioner in charge of all game schedules. • Post season All-Conference awards will be given to recognized Varsity players based on conference game statistics. There will be a end of year meeting with the BOD, league commissioner and coaches to determine AC player selection. • There will 2 Divisions at the Varsity level – Red and Black • All-Conference recognition will be awarded to players in the Red Division separate from the players in the Black division. • There will be 2 JV Divisions – JV1 and JV2. • Overall objective for having a conference commissioner and BOD is to be seamless when Lacrosse is recognized as a WIAA sport. • The Milwaukee C8 Conference is the only league in the state governed by a BOD and a commissioner.

  4. Team Alignments Lakeshore Teams – High Schools participating : • Homestead HS players who started playing in 2010 and 2011 will continue to play with Lakeshore through the 2014 season. This would allow freshman who started playing with Lakeshore in 2011 to remain with the team through their senior season. • All Ozaukee County HS students who are new freshman or sophomore players will play for the Ozaukee Lacrosse Club. • The objective after 2014 is to have only student/athletes from SHS, WFB and NHS supporting the Lakeshore Lacrosse Team. Lakeshore is using the WNS Hockey program as the model. • All other players outside the Lakeshore school districts of SHS, WFB and NHS that want to play lacrosse for Lakeshore must be approved by the C8 BOD.

  5. Team Alignments JV Team • Coaches – Lann Ellis, Clarke Warren and Ross Bjella • Players will be placed on the JV team after the first 2 team placement practices held in March. • Seniors are not eligible to play JV and will play Varsity. • JV and Varsity will practice at the same time unless one team has a scheduled game. • JV coaches will prepare players for advancement to Varsity with consistent Lakeshore program training. • JV players will have an opportunity to move up to Varsity based on performance. • The JV Team will play in the post season C8 playoffs. Teams will be seeded according to regular season records. Varsity Team • Coaches – Terry Combs, Tom Gough • Players will be placed on the Varsity team after the first 2 team placement practices held in March. • The Varsity roster will be fluid and other than senior players, some players could be moved to JV based on JV team needs. • The Varsity Team will play in the post season state tournament based on WLF seeding’s. All 3 conferences (Madison, Green Bay and Milwaukee) participate.

  6. Team Alignments Team Goals • Develop fundamentally sound lacrosse players. • Improve every time we take the field – practice and games. • Consistent program structure – Youth through High School. • Stress TEAM! • Have FUN! Coaches Expectations • BE COMMITED – COACHES, PLAYERS AND PARENTS! • Be on time! • Communicate – miss games or practice….please let the coaches know in advance. • Respect your coaches, teammates, referees and the game of lacrosse. • Work hard every day. • Hard work at practice will be rewarded with playing time in games. • Lead by example – “ Take someone with you”. • Maintain personal integrity on and off the field.

  7. 2014 Lakeshore Lacrosse Pre-Season Becoming a Better Lacrosse Player - Taking your game to the Next Level… First - 3 Things about Attitude 1.Desire. You must really want to become better & love the game. This needs to come from you. No Coach or Parent can do this for you. 2. Willingness to work hard - when you want to and when you don’t. 3. Believe in Yourself – Everyone has potential but few develop it. Understand that you have just as much opportunity to become a great player as any other athlete in any other part of the country. ============================================================================ Listed are different things that will help make you a better Lacrosse player. Many of these are things other players your age do in other parts of the country where Lacrosse is big. Some you already know and some you probably don’t . Have fun with this and good luck! Remember – Practice how you play. Practice hard, play hard. Practice soft, play soft. 1. Wall Ball. Wall Ball . Wall Ball. Focus on good mechanics not quantity. 2. Play other competitive sports. Participating in other sports makes you an overall better athlete mentally and physically; Football, Soccer, Basketball, Hockey, Skiing. Don’t become one dimensional, especially at the High School Level. 3. Run . Simulate Lacrosse type of running; stopping and starting, short sprints, cutting, lunges. A couple miles of hard running is enough. Focus on intensity not distance. 4. Run with your stick, gloves and a ball. Simulate playing. 5. If you can’t find a place to play wall ball, throw a Tennis ball against the wall in your basement, from your knees, with both right & left hands. Without your stick. 6. Watch great Lacrosse players and Teams any chance you get….in person, DVD, TV . 7.Shovel Snow. Use your right & left hands. A lot of these motions simulate Lacrosse. Tell your parents to cancel the snow plowing service & sell the snow blower…get out there and shovel…shovel your neighbor’s driveway too!
