Safe, Healthy, Welcoming Schools • Snack carts have been introduced in all of the elementary buildings- more students signed up for snack carts then the milk program at this point. • Farm to school week is this week. Serving food produced in MN, and apples grown locally will be served in elementary schools
Increasing Opportunity and Achievement • Building goals are being established collaboratively • Professional Development will be conducted weekly throughout year in Professional Learning Communities- being planned collaboratively • Online opportunities at the Alternative Learning Center are taking off- we over 70 students taking an online course in some format at the ALC • Blended courses have started at the high school
Effective and Efficient Operations • Student management subcommittee has been meeting to examine student management systems • AESOP- automated absence and substitute calling program has started the year very smoothly- now integrated with payroll. • Buildings have completed the transition to Smart Finance, and it has been fully implemented
OCTOBER BOARD WORKSHOP • I will be at a conference on Oct 4,5. • Recommend re-schedule board workshop from the 4th, or have a finance committee meeting that day.
