  2. What are the rules for rounding? Find the digit. Look next door. Five or higher, Add one more. Four or less, Let it rest.

  3. To round to the nearest tens place, find the digit in the tens place: 24 Tens place

  4. “Look next door” 24 “Four or less, let it rest.” • That means the “4” is telling the “2” to rest, and the “4” becomes a “0.” • 24 rounded to the nearest ten is 20
