Sports Inclusion Model Inclusive sport offers ALL children, athletes and players with a disability, the opportunity to realise their full potential in physical activity including sport, by providing open, modified, parallel and discrete sports options appropriate to their individual needs, abilities and environment
Key Messages • Develop more inclusive opportunities locally through our Branches and local authority partners for children, athletes and players with a disability • Sustain a regional network providing support to children, athletes and players with a disability with performance potential and linking local and national programmes • More sports working inclusively to ensure robust and sustainable pathways for children, athletes and players with a disability to meet their full potential • Develop inclusive coaching and education structures to provide Scotland’s coaches and volunteers with the skills and knowledge required to support children, athletes and players with a disability • Sufficient resources are in place to ensure the future of disability sport in Scotland • Effectively communicate with partners and stakeholders and explicitly lead the development of disability sport in Scotland

Education & Coaching • Education Scotland/sportsotland support for UKDIT in 32 local authorities • 114 education and training opportunities delivered • 1,563 course participants • Inclusive coaching developments with 17 SGB’s • Successful Coaching Matters Conference attracting 35 delegates across 10 sports • External Review of Coaching, Education, Development & Training
