FAC-C(R)* Decision to refresh the FAC-C made by OFPP in consultation with agency Senior Procurement Executives The refresh strengthens the certification program by adding a focus on challenging areas, such as cost and price analysis, service contracting and industry engagement. *These are the details of the new FAC-C program as currently known. Changes may occur when the OFPP policy is issued.
FAC-C(R)* The refresh focuses more on developing contracting professionals instead of just training them. The refresh includes specialty areas (currently working on IT and Small Business – what are your suggestions?) FAC-C(R) New certification courses must have been determined to be “DAU equivalent” by DAU • “DAU Equivalency” is awarded to vendors/ organizations on a course-by-course basis • DAU defines and manages the “DAU Equivalent” process: http://icatalog.dau. mil/appg.aspx 7
FAC-C(R) Workforce members may take courses directly from DAU • Generally on a “space available” basis • Must meet all the “DAU Prerequisites” • DAU has space available in FY 14 (individuals/ agencies responsible for travel) 8
