Trilateral Meeting Collection targets 16 June 2011 Washington
Collection targets EPBA position 2005 • 25% after 4 years is ambitious but achievable • 45% after 8 years is not achievable, based on the current experience of battery collection in certain Member States • Target after 8 years should be set on the basis of that achieved in the 25 Member States after 4 years
Collection targets • The level of the target should be realistic and achievable in the timeframe. • The targets should take account of the experience in those Member States that have been collecting batteries for a number of years. • It should be recognised that those Member States that do not have a history of battery collection would require a longer time to develop and set up an appropriate infrastructure and to educate the population than those that do.
