  2. El futuro • The future tense is used to describe actions that will take place. In English, the word will (or shall) is the essence of the future tense. I will go, We will study, and so on. • In Spanish, the future tense is a simple tense in that no helping verbs, such as “will”, is used; expression of the future is shown in the main verb itself. • You have already learned of one way to describe the Future in Spanish, using the verb IR + A + Infinitive.

  3. El futuro • Most verbs in the future tense are regular. To form the conjugation, use the infinitive itself as the stem, and then add the appropriate future tense ending: You will NOT TAKE OFF THE –AR/-ER/-IR ENDINGS! • é - emos • ás • á - án **These are the endings for all verbs, whether regular or irregular. Note that all endings, except the nosotrostake an accent.
