Current up-date • Basic Incredible Years 2-4 every term • Evening School Age Programme • Advanced Programme • Toddler and Baby Programme (Flying Start) • 1 New Basic IY a year by education • Peer Group Supervision by Liz Phenna-Williams and Deborah Roberts
6 month follow ups • Started 2006 with Support Worker, continued with Becky (current Support Worker) • Original questionnaire – General Health Questionnaire and Eyberg Behaviour Checklist • Short semi-structured interview
Results • 11 groups in total followed up • 56 participants out of 81 (69%) • Facilitators – Behaviour Practitioner, Sure Start, Health Visitor, School Nurse, Support Worker
2 year follow ups • Started in 2007 • Original questionnaires – General Health Questionnaire, Eyberg Behaviour Checklist • Short semi-structured interview
Results • 8 groups were followed up • 37 participants out of 60 (62%) • Groups co-facilitated by Behaviour Practitioner, Sure Start, School Nurse, Support Worker • 3 groups had been seen at 6 months

Outcomes – Eyberg Intensity • 67% still below clinical cut-off at 2 years. • 12 slipped back to above clinical cut-off • Of the 12, 5 out of 8 had maintained changes at 6 months (no 6mth data on others) • Of the 12, half went on to be diagnosed with ADHD, 2 with attachment disorder, 1 being assessed and 3 just slipped back
Outcomes – Eyberg Problem and GHQ • 67 % remained below clinical cut-off at 2 years. • 12 who slipped back, were mainly the same as for Eyberg Intensity
Outcomes – General Health Questionnaire • 78% remained below clinical cut-off at 2 years for GHQ • Suggests parental mental health remained improved for 78% participants
Parents Feedback • “I went to see the HV about the children recently. Things better after course but things have slipped again. Swearing, disrespectful, cheeky. No problems in school, doing really well. I feel I need to spend more special time with the children.”

Service changes since follow-ups • ‘Top-up’ sessions have been offered due to expressed need, but little success • ‘Advanced IY’ offered as a result and huge demand. Group currently running and waiting list!
Ending on a positive note • Our local evaluation is demonstrating positive outcomes, similar to other research. • Based on draft document from WAG on cost-effectiveness, we only need to have a 1:55 success with conduct problem children to gain long term cost benefits!
