  1. Desire to See Glory Read Exodus 33:7-23 Deeper than his administrative headaches, intercession for a rebellious nation, and the face-to-face conversations he already enjoyed with God, Moses had an insatiable urge to see God in His full glory!

  2. Desire to See Glory Why was Moses’ urge to see God in His full glory so strong? Given the exclusive experiences Moses had already had with God, what can we learn from Moses’ desire to see more?

  3. Seeing a Glimpse of Glory • Read Exodus 34:4-7 • Moses beheld an incredible sight! • We do not have a description of what he saw, apart from what God conveyed to him earlier. • We do know that this was significant enough to make Moses an independent light source! • During this event, God’s immutable attributes are proclaimed as an integral part of His glory.

  4. Same God, Different Views To a seeker not yet committed to Christ, God is often viewed as a series of snapshots, shaped by circumstances. To a maturing Christian, circumstances are often viewed as a series of snapshots, shaped by their understanding of God’s nature.

  5. Answering the Seeker Does God exist? Do we worship a legitimate God? How can we know of God’s qualities? Does God waver in these qualities? Does God cycle in and out of being a God of love? Does God fall asleep at the wheel?

  6. Progressive Revelation • Depravity • Man is hopelessly lost apart from the law. • Insufficiency • Man is hopelessly inadequate under the law. • Legitimacy • Man is reconciled to God through Christ. • Clarity • Man experiences God’s presence first-hand.

  7. What's the Big Deal? Considering God’s immutable attributes and seeking His glory are foundational in how we relate to Him, through all circumstances in our lives. The cycle of revelation, receipt, and reciprocation of glory is crucial to a deepening relationship with Him.
