TOSS PLAY • This simple play can be the best if properly executed. C = CREATE (We must create a gap at the point of attack) P = PULL (Get as many people as possible at the point of attack) P = POP (The runner must “pop” Through the point of attack)
Unbalanced I Stack • Published in coach and athletic director 9/10 page 44.
Roots of the Double Wing • Double Wing Strengths • Balanced • Simple in design/easy to install • Works well with power and misdirection • Great results • Double Wing Weakness • Limited play options • Have to coach motion routes (wingbacks) • Communication without offensive lines between backs
Unbalanced I Stack Strengths • Formation will allow strength of numbers • Element of surprise (first sound) • Create mismatch at P.O.A • Run a complete offense: • Toss • Sweep • X-Toss • Pass
Why Run It? • Get more bodies at the P.O.A • With formation and play (TOSS) • Beat the defense with the MOST • (Formation and play) FIRST (1st sound)
Coaching Points • MINDSET your players need to believe that this offense is UNSTOPPABLEand they take OWNERSHIP of it. • PERSONNEL they are the “baddest player on the field,” only the best most physical can be on the team.
