Part in the Great Patriotic War • In June 1941, with the beginning of World War II, the family was evacuated uncle and Alia remained in Leningrad • In March 1942, along with the children's home was evacuated from the besieged Leningrad in the village Vyatskoe Yaroslavl region. February 23, 1943 girl cadets took the military oath. In July 1943, Aliya along with several of his friends, classmates aimed sniper in the 54th Infantry Brigade (22th Army, 2nd Baltic Front).
On her official account of 78 killed the soldiers and officers. Was mortally wounded and died in battle January 14, 1944 north of the city Novosokolniki, being wounded in the arm by shrapnel mines involved in close combat with German soldiers, was again wounded German officer, who was also destroyed, and the second wound was fatal. Before his death, Alia wrote a letter to his own sister Sapure.

Honors • June 4, 1944 Aliya Nurmuhambetovna Moldagulova posthumously was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. • Was awarded the Order of Lenin.
