Research Group SA-2c • Partners: SZTAKI, UoW, UCO, INRIA, UCardiff • Task (JPA 03): 4.2 Self-Organizing Grid Services using P2P Technology • Topic: Scalability for Desktop Grids • Main Responsible: Zoltan Balaton (MTA SZTAKI) • Scientific contents: • Deal with architectural and programming issues of Desktop Grids. • Develop an architectural framework to interconnect Desktop Grids both in a hierarchical and symmetric way. • Thus, enabling large number of users to use the resources available in the Desktop Grid system as well as, building of large, scalable Desktop Grids from smaller organisational level Desktop Grids as building blocks. This new architectural concept will significantly extend the current usability of desktop Grid systems. • Possible Papers: • Decentralised BOINC Architecture, Cluster and Legacy Service support in BOINC based Desktop Grids • Short visits: • Mutual visits between partners (TBD)
