The NATURE–SDIplusNetwork Development Co-funded by the Community Programme eContentplus ECP-2007-GEO-317007
NATURE-SDIplus is an open network NATURE-SDIplus Members represent the following categories of operators in nature conservation and natural data management: • Data providers on a national, regional and local scale representing organisations that are in charge of the production of the spatial information; • Technological partners that implement and maintain advanced operational tools and the vision of future ICT trends; • Researchers that maintain the knowledge of the current and future research fields; • User representatives using spatial information for nature conservation and to which the project should give answers about their requirements.
Initial Partnership • 30 partners from 17 countries
NETWORK MEMBERS NOW • 61 members from 20 countries
NATURE-SDIplusNetwork Development Building the NATURE-SDIplus Network, a Community grouping target users such as data providers, data users and service providers, through: • Network development at National level, to establish National NATURE-SDIplus Communities • Dissemination and awareness actions: • Web site, newsletters, national and European Conference and workshops • On-line Training Framework and Training initiatives • Sharing Good Practice • Clustering and link with other initiatives
NATURE-SDIplus NATIONAL NetworkS 15 project partners in the role of National Coordinator: • to develop the Network at national level in each Country represented in the Consortium and to coordinate: • the individuation, the collection and the provision of nature conservation datasets relevant for the project; • the awareness and dissemination activities and the network development at national level; • technical activities related to the access to datasets in their Countries; • additionally, the training actions organized within the project.
TRAINING FRAMEWORK 13 Training modules organised in the NATURE-SDIplus Training Framework
Network exploitation through training framework • a tool to support training on project outcomes and transfer of knowledge within the consortium and the network and towards the external audience of INSPIRE Communities • training material available on a e-learning platform • Training portal: www.nature-sdi.eu/training • Training Actions already organized in HU, IT, PT, PL, BG • supporting training in EU policies on GI and SDI
Sharing good practices • an important added value in a networkin order to represent an efficient tool to learn from existing experience • Good Practices Workshops • Collecting structured information • NATURE-SDIplus Good Practice Catalogue - exploitable from the project web site http://www.nature-sdi.eu (Menu: Search Good Practices) • Intergrated into the Training Framework (training material module)
SHARING GOOD PRACTICES Structured Template Keywords Description Technical Implementation Data Aspects Stakeholders Processes Reference
Clustering • Link with INSPIRE • Link withCEN/TC 287 • Link with other projects/initiatives (26 till July 2011)
Link with INSPIRE • After the contribution of the project as INSPIRE SDIC: • INSPIRE Annex I DS Protected Sites Testing • Development of candidate Data Specification for Annex III data themes (BR, HB, SD) • Participation in INSPIRE Annex II/III DS Testing (BR, HB, SD) • Follow up focuses on continuous cooperation and support with the nature protection stakeholders to support the INSPIRE implementation process throughout: • thematic metadata profile extension (proposal and implementation) • testing of the INSPIRE Data Specifications (transformation and application) • deployment of INSPIRE network services • awareness raising, including training and
LINK WITH CEN/TC 287 • To rationalize and pool the EU deliverables and project outcomes on Geographic Information • To exploit the Training Framework schema (on-line catalogue, e-learning tools and training paths), to create a reference portal for the GI training in Europe • Validation Briefcase (the methodology can be easily generalised to any other INSPIRE data theme)
NATURE-SDIplus follow-up NATURE-SDIplusNetwork is continuing its mission, also after the conclusion of the eContentplus project, to support the INSPIRE implementation regarding the nature conservation aspects. That is being executed throughout: • the NATURE-SDIplus Project Office, as contact point of the Network also assuring the operativeness of the Network; • training and awareness activities, in particular training actions at national level addressed to selected stakeholders; • further development of the NATURE-SDIplus Good Practice Catalogue, a tool to allow the sharing of experiences in nature conservation data management and data harmonisation, that will be maintained also after the project funding period; • NATURE-SDIplusGeoportal and the deployment of the wider NATURE-SDIplus Infrastructure for the definition and implementation of applications and services • Active participation in the interoperability Working Group, constituted by JRC and CENTC/287 • Promotion of new projects and initiatives
