Commentsconcerningreporting unit – enterprises - in different statistics To producestatisticsweuseinformation from registers as well as surveys Registers areoften not designed to have statistics as a main goal Enterprise IDs, in the database ofthe trading agent, may not be valid for thereportingperiod. Experiences from othercountries? Extra- v intrastat? Smaller enterprises do not appear in many surveys due to responseburden

  3. Enterprise – business registration no. The mostimportantenterprisesbelong to an enterprisegroup -EG Different enterpriseswithin an EG may report to thevariousstatistical areas Over time: within a statistical area thereporting unit mayalsochange

  4. External trade in goodsstatistics The reportingenterprisemight not be theoneactuallyexporting Downstreamvaluechainenterprisesact as intermediarieswithouthavingactualproductione.g. exportsoffish. Severalproducingenterprisesmay report onlyusingoneoftheenterpriseID’s.
