Hate Incident definition Hate Crime: Any hate incident, which constitutes a criminal offence, perceived by the victim, or any other person, as being motivated by prejudice or hate. Hate Incident: Any incident which may, or may not, constitute a criminal offence, which is perceived by the victim, or any other person, as being motivated by prejudice or hate.

Objectives • To share intelligence from and about local communities across key agencies • To identify issues or incidents in specific areas that have, or could have an impact on community relations • To evaluate the impact on a national and local level • To take an overview of hate incident reports and take appropriate action • To identify any future events that could impact on community tensions

Community Impact Assessment Group • Multi-agency Partnership – chaired by the Police • Meets 4 weekly or as the need arises • Considers and evaluates areas of possible community tension • Identifies areas for intervention to minimise the potential negative affects of tension, prevent escalation and reduce conflict • Informs and supports critical incident management • Sets the local Tension Indicator
