Technology Integration • Integration is, according to dictionary.com “an act or instance of combining into an integral whole“ and technology can be integrated in the classroom in an efficient and effective manner. • Technology can fit into teaching and learning, and as teachers, we can motivate this alternative teaching style to be included in many classrooms.
Enabling Technologies • Technology in education should be enabling. • Has to have significant learning benefits • Has to be easily implemented • Teachers need to do their homework and ask why technology is selected to accomplish a task or why technology is not selected prior to any use.
Information, Media and Technology Skills • People in the 21st century live in a technology and media-suffused environment, marked by various characteristics, including: • 1) access to an abundance of information, • 2) rapid changes in technology tools, and • 3) the ability to collaborate and make individual contributions on an unprecedented scale. • To be effective in the 21st century, citizens and workers must be able to exhibit a range of functional and critical thinking skills related to information, media and technology.

Appendix Slide5 Elements of Effective Presentation Design • Legibility is displayed through larger font sizes, easy-to-read font, and fewer words per slide. • Design and Layout elements were exhibited through the “chunking” together of similar topics and use of headlines and key terms. • Consistency is demonstrated through the same background, font, template, etc. throughout the entire presentation. • Simplicity is revealed by the lack of “glitz” and streamlined slides. • Clarity is presented through short slides that are straight forward and concise.
