  4. Pakistani Lieutenant general Shahid Aziz, and then head of ISI analysis wing, has confirmed there were no mujahideenbut only regular Pakistan Army soldiers who took part in the Kargil War

  5. It is one of the very few instances of direct, conventional warfare between nuclear states.

  6. Kargilwas targeted partly because of several unoccupied military positions.

  7. The war resulted in the loss of life on both sides

  8. On this day, 26 July 1999, India successfully took command of the high outpost.
