  2. Everest Expedition • Mt. Everest Expedition 8,848 meters is the highest mountain in the world, popularly known as ‘ The Roof of the World ‘. • The name, Everest was given in 1865 to honor Sir George Everest, Surveyor General of India from 1830 – 1843 who first recorded the location of Everest, previously known as ‘Peak XV’. • Mount Everest is located in the Khumbu region of Nepal within the world’s highest National Park i.e. Sagarmatha National Park. • The name of the Mount Everest in Nepal is ‘Sagarmatha’ which literally means ‘Goddess of the Sky’. First confirmed ascent of Mt Everest was made by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on May 29, 1953. • The climb of Everest involves a maximum level of climbing experience, a high degree of patience and commitment. • Apart from the incredible climbing experience of Mount Everest, we will have the opportunity to explore around Sagarmatha National Park which is home to the variety of wild animals including endangered species such as Snow Leopard, Musk Deer, Red Pandas, and Himalayan Thar
