Tip 6 – Heating Savings • Warm a small living space • Limit hours of operation • Control thermostat • (18 to 21 degrees C in winter) • Wear warm clothing • Clean and maintain • Open the curtains to the sun • Consider upgrading to 5 star gas or heat pump (more heat for same cost) ACT HOME ENERGY ADVICE TEAM

Tip 10 - Standby Power • Anything with a light, display or a remote control uses standby power. • 11% of your consumption • The standby power for an air conditioner for a year uses the same power as it does running 20 days for 8 hours • If the switch can be easily reached and it doesn’t affect programming of the device, turn it off!
