Operation & Functions of Lights & Blinds Switching Groups • Definition of switching group • Depending on the function assigned to a switching group, different parameters are displayed for: • Switch: Switching lights or other electrical consumers. • In addition to Gamma wave actuators, a relay output can be controlled. • Dim: Switching and dimming lights, whereby dimming is only possible via the softkeys. • Blind: Fully raising or lowering blinds, or stepwise adjustment, whereby stepwise adjustment is only possible via the softkeys. • Scene: For storing and activating 2 scenes. Simultaneous control of switch, dim and blind actuators. • Info: Basically, the switching group has no function. But using theassigned pair of softkeys, 2 info pages can be directly selected (default value for switching group 1...4).

Operation & Functions of Lights & Blinds Switching Groups New configuration of switching groups Before changing the switching group function of a switching group that has already been configured, allactuators associated with that switching group should be disconnected first. Commissioning > RF connections > Switching groups > Switching group x > Disconnect device If not disconnected, entries not required are retained in the assignment device list as dead bodies so that – possibly – there is no more space in the actuator for new connections. If this problem occurs, it can only be resolved by completely resetting the actuator. In that case, all connections of the RF actuator are canceled. Switching group x

  5. Operation & Functions of Lights & Blinds Switching & Dimming Time switch presence simulation Main menu > Switching groups > Time switch presence simulation > . . . Simulation of presence is enabled via a time switch commonly used by all switching groups (switching & dimming only). The time switch defines the periods of time during which simulation of presence is active (according to enabling). Available are 7 weekdays and 1 special day (holidays and special day) each with up to 6 switching points. I Simulation of presence 0 0 6 12 18 24

There is a total of 8 switching times per day available, at which the lights can be switched on and off. The settings for “Special day“ apply to holidays and special days. I E.g. 4 switching times 0 0 6 12 18 24 Note: In contrast to the heating and DHW time switches, the individual switching times are shown here as vertical lines. This shall indicate that the respective command is triggered exactly once at the point in time set.

Operation & Functions of Lights & Blinds Switching & Dimming Simulation of presence To ensure that, during simulation of presence, at least one of the lights in the apartment is always on, Continuously on must be selected for at least one of the switching groups. To make certain that, during Continuously on, the time program of the switching group will not switch off the light, the commands delivered by the time program during the simulation are always disabled (also in the case of Random). Simulation is always given priority. But events and manual triggering of switching commands via the universal buttons or the operating line are still permitted. Operation & Functions of Lights & Blinds Scenes • Trigger scene • Main menu > Switching groups > Switching group x > Scene x > Trigger scene > . . . • Call the scene • Save the scene • Using scenes, a certain state of all involved actuators can be saved and retrieved, if required. • If a certain value is no longer desired (e.g. light too bright), the required position can be adjusted with the dim pushbutton. Then, the scene can be filed again under Save the scene. If the scene can also be retrieved via a universal button, the scene can be saved again by a short press (> 3 s) on the respective button (=> short acoustic signal). Press for > 3 s Brightness from 100 to 60%

Operation & Functions of Lights & Blinds Info Pages • Info pages • Main menu > Commissioning > Basic configuration > Switching groups > Switching group x > Function > Info • The universal buttons not needed for the operation of lights, blinds or scenes can be used for the direct selection of frequently required info pages. • The user can change or select the numbers of the info pages via the following operating lines: • Main menu > Settings > Info page selection > Info page button x

Operation & Functions of Lights & Blinds Light State • Display of light state • Using the following info pages on the central apartment unit, the current state of up to 4 lamps (light actuators) can be displayed: • The light actuators can only be connected via KNX-TP1 (S-mode). If at least one of the 4 lamps is on, symbol appears in the quiescent picture of the central apartment unit. • Note: • The display of the light state of actuators switched simultaneously with several other actuators via KNX RF does not work reliably, the reason being radio telegram collisions. For this reason, there is no display of light state.

  31. Operation & Functions of Lights & Blinds Exercices 1. “Blinds living“ shall be completely lowered every night at 22:30 at the latest. During the holiday period, the blinds shall be raised at 08:00 and lowered at 21:00. 2. To simulate presence, “Lights living“ shall apply from 18:00 to 22:00. 3. Save a scene that switches on both lamps and that lowers the blinds. 4. In the event of smoke, both lamps (scene) shall be switched on. 5. If supervision of windows responds, the lights shall be switched on. 6. When leaving the house (absence on), the lights shall be switched off.
